Either a QoL setting or an entirely new mod that sets the minimum soul requirement to begin focusing from the default 33 to 1, without affecting the healing cost of 33 soul. It's that simple. My main reason for wanting this is so I can use Baldur's Shell more actively in combat without having to worry about that pesky minimum soul requirement for healing, but I'm certain I'll have new reasons to want this rather quickly as I discover more glitches to use in my No Logic randomizers which require shorter and shorter uses of focus.
#QoL/Separate Mod - Baldur's Focus

Doesnt really seem like it would fit QoL but why not just turn on infinite soul? Or edit heal cost in the save file.
Because Heal cost isnt what I'm asking for. I just want the ability to do an incomplete focus without being required to have the amount of soul for focus's heal since there's a number of situations like Baldur Shell or Shape Of Unn's hurtbox shift where you need to be focusing to perform it, but need to have the full 33 soul to even begin focusing which causes it to be impossible. Like I said, all I'm asking for in this hypothetical QoL toggle setting or entirely new mod is an effective removal of that limitation to focus without affecting the cost required to heal from focus. Hence the name of this hypothetical setting, Baldur's Focus. The change is in a similar vein to my last qol setting request, Instant Overcharm, where it just makes it more convenient for the player to do niche interactions without having to deal with certain unnecessary requirements the game enforces.
If there is already a way to do the above in the save files including randomizer save files, please tell me what I need to do to get the desired outcome.
Ah, so you don't actually care about the healing part. I think what I described is still as close as you'll come unless someone makes a new mod for it
Not exactly sure it exists, but the mechanic would probably be to grant the ability to start focusing with 1 soul instead of 33 and adding reaching 0 soul as an interruption reason for the focusing (like receiving damage or inputting anything else)
Yeah figured it didn't exist, which is why I made the suggestion in the first place. also that was literally exactly what i said in the first place, setting the default 33 minimum focus requirement to 1 without affecting the healing cost of 33 soul. Probably wouldn't be TOO hard of an addition to make since its just adding a new variable of 1 and pointing to the new variable instead of to the heal cost in the focus's equivalent of an if statement. (i dont know unity, only have my small experience messing around in Godot to self-teach. Was probably going to self-teach unity before the whole thing last year complicated my decision.)
If you really wanted to get fancy with the separate mod idea though you could totally make it a slider in the mod settings menu which lets you scale the new focus minimum variable from anywhere between 1 to 99 on the fly (rounding down), but that's overboard for what I really want.
One problem is, if you only change the start cost, you're only going to be able to move a tiny amount. You need something that will let you start at one *and continue * the animation, without actually healing.
