This is a new version of Scarab, that fixes many of the problems with the commonly used version, as well as adds additional community-requested features (filtering by tags, showing new releases, offline mode, shareable mods/mod lists, and modpacks).

Hollow Knight Crashes upon opening after installing a mod ⚠️
This error can happen for a number of reasons. Read through all of the common reasons below to see which might apply to you.
-
Your game patch doesn't match the installer you used
- Modding is currently done on patch 1.5.78+, and this is what all current installers require. If you're on Steam, then make sure you are not accidentally using a Beta patch (Beta should be set to "None")
- "Mod Installer" ( Zote) and Mod Installer 2 are made for version 1.4.3.2, and should no longer be used. If you watched or read something that said to use these, then it is outdated information.
- There aren't installers for other patches, like 1.2.2.1. If you are looking for speedrunning mod help, then type
?tag 1221into chat for more information.
-
Something didn't install correctly
- Right-Click the installer, and select "Run as Administrator"
- Ensure that the installer is not still in a
.zip file(if you downloaded it as a.zip, then you'll need to Extract the files from it) - Make sure that you moved the Installer file(s) out of your Downloads folder
-
Your game is cracked / pirated

- Piracy is not supported in most communities for games, and discussing it is against Discord Community Guidelines. Mods are not considered compatible with pirated copies, and you will not get troubleshooting support in any of the main servers for them.
- Modding is only supported on the official computer versions from Steam, GoG, or Xbox Games.
- If you do not have a supported version, then please get it and then you can get support with modding. Asking for assistance with unsupported versions may result in moderation action.
- Hollow Knight goes on sale regularly, and you can keep an eye on this website for when it is: https://isthereanydeal.com/game/hollowknight/
Well, I dont know more. I install two mods: pale court (and the other three) and enemy bar hp, but any of them works. I have this message. I am playing in Window, I dont know the patch, what is it? And the platform is steam

Important paths
Notes: These assume you're using Steam, with default locations. For GoG, locate your hollow_knight.exe folder, and then follow from there. The Save Files location is the same for all versions (except for XBox Games) and additionally contains Global Settings as well as your ModLog.txt.
Note: Most mod installers have buttons to open these folders for you!

C:\XboxGames\Hollow Knight\Content\hollow_knight_Data\Managed\Mods\ - Some notes about this version:
- This is the version for Gamepass and the Microsoft Store on PC; you cannot mod the XBox console version
- Microsoft does some weird things with how it treats this install, and it syncs the Game Files (and Mods) to a hidden folder that you cannot interact with. This means that it may take a few minutes for any changes you make to take effect, and it also means that there can be bugs with installing/uninstalling mods.
