Game will not open | Hollow Knight Modding | Page 1

whenever I try to open my game it crashes and shows this. I can't click "yes" to see the crash report since it closes immediately.

Scarab is also not showing my mods as installed, but they are in the game's files

I found the crashes folder, and it says a file called KERNELBASE.dll causes an access issue, but there is no file in the game files called KERNELBASE.dll

You must be on the correct patch!
🔹 For Scarab, you must change "Betas" to "None"
🔹 1432 Modding (and ModInstaller) is no longer supported.
🔹 1221 Modding does not use an installer; type "?tag 1221" for info on it.

I was previously using modinstaller but deleted that, so I still had the beta version installed and forgot to change it

The game opens, but now I have a new problem, the mods are not loading. They're in the game files and installed with Scarab, but when I boot up the game there are none

after updating, you'll need to reinstall at least one mod to activate the modding api
