I have followed the guide and followed instructions but it isn't working. Port checkers say my port is closed and I can't host an ItemSync server. The default ItemSync server also refuses to connect

please help

  • Are you trying to play ItemSync, or HKMP, or both? (You seem to only mention ItemSync in the post, but tagged it with HKMP?)

  • If you're not connecting to the Public ItemSync server, then you may want to verify that you're using the most Up-To-Date version of ItemSync, and that you don't have something on your computer blocking Hollow Knight from connecting to the internet (such as Anti Virus programs or Windows Defender blocking it)

  • Additionally, it would be helpful if after you try and connect, if it fails then you go and get your ModLog, and post it here

ModLog

ModLog.txt can be found in the same folder as your save files:
Windows: %APPDATA%\..\LocalLow\Team Cherry\Hollow Knight\
MacOS: ~/Library/Application Support/unity.Team Cherry.Hollow Knight/
Linux: ~/.config/unity3d/Team Cherry/Hollow Knight/
......................................................

To easily get ModLog on Windows:

  • Press + R
  • Copy and paste this into it %appdata%\..\LocalLow\Team Cherry\Hollow Knight and hit "OK"
  • ModLog.txt is in this folder.

Note: is the Windows button, in between Ctrl and Alt on your keyboard

Sorry for responding late, ItemSync ended up connecting to the public server and I had to set up with the HKMP public server
