#HKMP Always says failed to connect

It's been noted before that some Mac users have had a weird issues with HKMP, that havn't been figured out yet. It seems to be related to either something on MacOS, or some kind of Mac-specific software.

If you have the ability to run a Windows VM, or dual-boot into Windows, then it should work without issue.

Otherwise you may want to try:

  • Turning off the Router

  • Turning off the Mac

  • Turn on the Router, and wait for it to have internet

  • Turn on the Mac

This may not fix it, but after a bit of looking for similar cases of people having mac-specific networking issues like this, it seems that MacOs may have a bug that causes LAN / Network services to occasionally not function correctly with some services, and both devices need to be rebooted for it to work again.
