QUALIFYING ONE
Sergio Pérez got caught in traffic and could not get through, while Carlos Sainz’s last lap took him from P22 to P18, while Nico Hülkenberg got out of the bottom six late, knocking out Franco Colapinto. Alex Albon then went from P22 to P18, as his teammate did, while Lance Stroll and Gabriel Bortoleto couldn’t put together the lap to get through. Antonelli was quickest from Leclerc, Russell and Hamilton.
Out: Colapinto, Albon, Pérez, Sainz, Stroll, Bortoleto
QUALIFYING TWO
Charles Leclerc hit traffic on his first lap, and needed a late lap to get out of the bottom six, but did so, as did George Russell. World Champion Lando Norris wasn’t as fortunate and was another shock Q2 exit for his home race. Max Verstappen’s struggles continued this weekend as he also exited in Q2, and would drop down the grid with his penalty. Alonso also exited alongside Gasly, and the two Haas drivers, Bearman and Ocon. Leclerc was quickest from Antonelli and Hamilton.
Out: Alonso, Verstappen, Gasly, Norris, Bearman, Ocon
QUALIFYING THREE
In a fantastic Q3, George Russell snatched Pole for his home race, beating Charles Leclerc by 0.009!! Kimi Antonelli was third ahead of Oscar Piastri, with Isack Hadjar fifth, and Lewis Hamilton having to settle for P6 on the grid at his home Grand Prix. Nico Hülkenberg, who got his famous podium here last year, starts P7, having briefly been fastest, while Arvid Lindblad will start his home race from 8th. Valtteri Bottas and Liam Lawson take the fifth row.
Q3: Russell, Leclerc, Antonelli, Piastri, Hadjar, Hamilton, Hülkenberg, Lindblad, Bottas, Lawson
Max Verstappen has a three place penalty for colliding into Nico Hülkenberg in Austria.
THE RACE
The rain poured down for most of this race, and only cleared up in the final few laps. George Russell got away well, but Kimi Antonelli got the jump on Charles Leclerc to make it an early Mercedes 1-2. Lewis Hamilton fought his way past Isack Hadjar and Oscar Piastri in the early laps to take P4. Russell tried to put a gap between himself and his teammate, who had to defend Leclerc, although Antonelli managed to defend well, then build a bit of a gap again. Ollie Bearman went aquaplaning and spun off at Arena, dropping to the back of the pack. In the midfield, the two Racing Bulls had to defend three World Champions in Alonso, Norris and Verstappen. Antonelli, in his chase of Russell, locked up, giving his teammate space and putting Charles Leclerc right back in contention for P2, which Leclerc happily took to take P2, and Leclerc then commenced chasing down Russell. Russell pitted on Lap 24, and Ferrari and Leclerc immediately answered a lap later. Racing Bulls pulled off a brilliant double stack, as Antonelli and Hamilton pitted on the same lap, putting themselves in a straight fight for the last podium spot. Alex Albon retired with a gearbox issue, the only retirement of the day. Verstappen fought his way into the points, but Lindblad’s bid for his first points on home soil ended in heartbreak as he firstly had a lock-up, which put him behind his teammate, then spun off, costing him any shot of the top ten.
Leclerc chased down and passed Russell, then drove away from him, while Hamilton got ahead of Antonelli, and Antonelli’s bid for the podium ended in a massive spin, although he was able to recover for P4. As the sun came out for the first time this afternoon, Leclerc coasted to his seventh win of the season, 5 seconds ahead of Russell, as Hamilton completed the podium. Antonelli, despite his spin, was fourth, with Piastri fifth, and Hadjar sixth. Verstappen fought back for seventh, with Hülkenberg, Bottas and Alonso completing the points.
DRIVER OF THE DAY: CHARLES LECLERC
A magnificent drive in the rain by Charles Leclerc, who was voted Driver of the Day after a brilliantly timed move on George Russell, waiting out his move until the final few then coasting away with a tyre advantage. Charles Leclerc takes his seventh win of the season, and DOTD!
Top Five: Leclerc, Hadjar, Hülkenberg, Bottas, Verstappen

Some huge breaking news ahead of the Belgian Grand Prix, as Lance Stroll has announced his decision to leave Aston Martin, and Formula 1, at the end of the 2026 season.
Stroll's father, Lawrence Stroll, owns the team, but has come under increasing pressure from Honda to replace his son, who has yet to score a point.
And Lance Stroll has announced he is going to leave the F1 team on his own terms, although he is expected to drive for Aston Martin in WEC next year.
Speculation now turns to who will replace him at Aston Martin for 2027. Names including Yuki Tsunoda, Carlos Sainz and Gabriel Bortoleto are said to be considered by Aston Martin, but their top targets include George Russell, Oscar Piastri and Charles Leclerc.
Fernando Alonso's future remains in speculation, with him being linked to Williams, so both seats at Aston Martin could yet change.
Nico Hülkenberg and Audi have announced a new two-year deal for the German driver with the German team.
Hülkenberg, who has impressed with Audi this season, has signed a new deal for two more seasons, and has said "it'll be my last contract in Formula 1. I want to retire with this team in 2028, but I have some more to give, and I think I can help lead this team to success."
The German driver will have a home Grand Prix next season and in 2028, as Hockenheim returns to the F1 calendar from next season onwards.
In other news, the Portuguese Grand Prix will be on the calendar again next season.
Portimão has signed a 2 year deal to return to the F1 calendar.
Portimão was last raced in 2021, but returns for next year, joining Germany, Türkiye and South Africa back on the calendar.
It remains to be seen which races will drop off the calendar for next year, but it is expected that the number of US Races will go from 3 to 2. Netherlands and one Spanish race have already been confirmed to not happen next year.
We head to Spa-Francorchamps and Belgium for one of the most iconic races of the season, the Belgian Grand Prix. And after a win in the rain of Silverstone, Charles Leclerc extended his advantage in the Drivers' Championship to 32 points, but Mercedes showed a lot of pace, and on another day, could've had the race win. Lewis Hamilton won the Sprint, and still harbours hopes of his eighth. What will Belgium's famous Spa-Francorchamps, the longest lap of the season, bring us?

After a collision with Gabriel Bortoleto in FP2, Lindblad was judged to have been at fault and receives the grid penalty.

Valtteri Bottas will start Sunday's Belgian Grand Prix from the pitlane.

Gonna take a break to charge the phone and relax a little before the race!
A shock bit of news as it has been revealed this morning that Flavio Briatore is to leave Alpine with immediate effect.
Alpine have been disappointed with their results over the last two years since Briatore's return, as well as the treatment of former driver Jack Doohan, and it has been decided to let Briatore go with immediate effect.
Dave Greenwood, the team's administrative representative, is expected to take charge for the rest of the season, with a new Team Principal to be appointed for 2027 onwards.
With the news of Flavio Briatore's sacking by Alpine still shaking the paddock to its foundation, we have a motor race to think about this weekend. Round 12 of the 2026 Formula 1 season, and with just two rounds of the season and we're at the exact halfway point of the season, and we end the first half of the season with a Ferrari front row lock-out. 44 laps of the 7.004km circuit, Spa-Francorchamps has been a core part of the F1 calendar, and will continue to be for years to come. From the run up to Eau Rouge to the Bus Stop Chicane, iconic parts of F1 folklore wherever you look here.
Valtteri Bottas starts from the pitlane, which leaves Alex Albon alone on the back row, Franco Colapinto's Alpine has lost Flavio Briatore and life without him begins in P20 for the Argentine driver, alongside Lance Stroll. Gabriel Bortoleto and Arvid Lindblad are on row nine, Pierre Gasly meanwhile also affected by that Alpine news, he's 16th, with former Alpine teammate Esteban Ocon in 15th. Isack Hadjar and Fernando Alonso are on row seven, then it's Nico Hülkenberg, newly confirmed with an Audi contract for the next two years, in P12 alongside Carlos Sainz. Ollie Bearman starts 10th with Sergio Pérez 9th, then it's Liam Lawson in 8th alongside the World Champion Lando Norris, and Oscar Piastri starts alongside Max Verstappen on the fourth row. Mercedes lock out the second row with Kimi Antonelli alongside George Russell, then it's a Ferrari front row lock-out. Lewis Hamilton starts second today, his first start from second all season, and Charles Leclerc has his fourth Pole of the 2026 season.
Let's go motor racing!
Formation lap done, all cars in place...
One light, two, three, four, five...
AND IT'S LIGHTS OUT AND AWAY WE GO
Leclerc away well, so is Hamilton, Russell and Antonelli, Verstappen, Piastri, Lawson ahead of Norris, then Pérez and Bearman!
Russell goes for the overtake on Hamilton and gets it!
(HAM) "George pushed me wide, it's manipulated, man"
(SAN) "We saw that Lewis, we're on it"
Russell trying to challenge Leclerc for the lead, but he leaves the door open and Hamilton gets by again!
Hamilton has a look down the inside of Leclerc at the Bus Stop Chicane and he gets the lead off his teammate!
Leclerc coming back into the Kemmel Straight and he's back in front!
Ollie Bearman with a lovely move to take P9 off Pérez!
Piastri with a brilliant move on Verstappen! He's into P5!
Russell overtakes Hamilton and is into P2!
But Hamilton immediately takes it back!
Lap 8: Leclerc, Hamilton, Russell, Antonelli, Verstappen, Piastri, Lawson, Norris, Bearman, Pérez, Hadjar, Alonso, Hülkenberg, Sainz, Ocon, Gasly, Bortoleto, Lindblad, Stroll, Bottas, Albon, Colapinto
Hamilton moves into the lead!
But then a lap later Leclerc takes it back!
PITSTOPS: Bearman, Bortoleto and Lindblad all in. Bearman onto the Hards, likely to the end. Bortoleto and Lindblad perhaps gambling on the two stopper.
Hamilton back into the lead on Lap 14! Russell sticking close to the Ferraris here as well!
Leclerc goes down the inside of Hamilton at the Bus Stop Chicane! He's back into P1!
PITSTOPS: We have not one, not two, but THREE Red Bull cars all pitting at the same time! Red Bull double stack Verstappen and Hadjar, while Racing Bulls bring in Lawson! Verstappen onto the Softs, Mediums for Hadjar and Lawson! There's enough of a gap to make the double stack work, and Red Bull get the cars out without issue!
Russell now ahead of Hamilton and into P2!
VIRTUAL SAFETY CAR CALLED
(BON) "Are you okay Kimi?"
(ANT) "I'm fine. Sorry. Lost the car. Sorry."
ANTONELLI IN THE BARRIER!!! HE CATCHES THE KERB AND SPINS OFF INTO THE WALL!!! HIS RACE IS OVER!
Thankfully Kimi has walked away unhurt from that, but that is a disaster for Mercedes' WCC chances!
(BOZ) "Antonelli out, he's crashed out. Virtual Safety Car."
(LEC) "Is Kimi okay?"
(BOZ) "He's okay. Box immediately. Box, box."
(LEC) "Glad he's okay. Box."
(SAN) "VSC Lewis. Antonelli is out of the race."
(HAM) "Is Kimi alright?"
(SAN) "He's alright. Out of the car. So box now, box."
(HAM) "Glad he's ok. Box this lap."
PITSTOPS: LECLERC HAS A DELAY, WHICH DELAYS BOTH DRIVERS!!! A RARE ERROR THIS YEAR FROM THE FERRARI PIT CREW!
(LEC) "Perfect. It's a joke, come on!"
(BOZ) "Sorry about that Charles. Still plenty of room, pitstop was free. Focus."
(LEC) "It's slightly less free now"
(HAM) "I don't know why we had to both come in there"
(SAN) "Sorry about that, Lewis"
(HAM) "I could've got round again man"
Leclerc now 9.5 behind Russell, who did not pit under the VSC. Ferrari were the only two who did
PITSTOP: Alonso in for the Mediums as we go green again! Aston actually bringing both drivers in, but Stroll is so far behind Alonso that Alonso could've gotten out and gotten a snack, and got back in the car before Stroll arrived.
PITSTOP: Russell now pits for the Mediums. He rejoins in P3, 10 seconds behind Leclerc, 4 behind Hamilton.
Lap 22: Leclerc, Hamilton, Russell, Piastri, Verstappen, Norris, Hadjar, Bearman, Lawson, Pérez, Sainz, Bortoleto, Gasly, Alonso, Albon, Lindblad, Bottas, Hülkenberg, Ocon, Stroll, Colapinto. Antonelli out of the race.
Russell now closing on Hamilton for P2!
(SAN) "Elbows out. Russell right behind."
Russell going for the overtake and gets it done! He's into P2!
FASTEST LAP - RUSSELL
Pérez ahead of Bearman now for P8!
Hamilton and Russell now fighting for P2, and Leclerc has extended the gap at the front to 11 seconds!
PITSTOP: Haas taking a gamble and pitting Bearman again, AND HAVE GIVEN HIM A MASSIVE DELAY!!!
(BEA) "I could've made it to the end on these tyres, sadly I think we've thrown points away here"
PITSTOP: Hadjar comes in for his second stop, and rejoins P8.
LAWSON AND ALONSO MAKE CONTACT!!!! ALONSO GOES FOR TGE OVERTAKE AND LAWSON CRASHES INTO HIM!!!
(ALO) "Liam again? Again? What an idiot."
(LAW) "Dunno what the f--- Alonso is doing there, to be honest"
FIA looking at that one just now
Lap 33: Leclerc, Hamilton, Russell, Piastri, Norris, Verstappen, Pérez, Hadjar, Alonso, Lawson, Bottas, Hülkenberg, Bortoleto, Ocon, Sainz, Lindblad, Stroll, Bearman, Gasly, Albon, Colapinto
PITSTOP: In the meantime, Lawson has pit and it is a long one as they needed a front wing change. He rejoins in P18. Bottas, who started in the pitlane, now in the points.
PITSTOP: Make that P9, as Pérez comes in to pit, and he's now rejoined in P10, just ahead of Hülkenberg!
Into the last five laps now
VIRTUAL SAFETY CAR CALLED WITH FIVE LAPS LEFT!!!
(DUD) "You okay, George?"
(RUS) "Oh my goodness. F---! Aaahh!! No! No!!!
...I'm ok but f---!!"
Disaster. Absolute disaster for Russell and Mercedes. Battling Hamilton for P2, Russell completely misjudges Stavelot and hits the barrier!! His race is over, and likely his challenge for the WDC may be, too!
PITSTOPS: Leclerc and Hamilton both pit under the VSC. Much cleaner stops this time around. Leclerc's stop is second, and he gets out just in time for the lights to go green again!
Hulkenberg with a lock-up!
Oscar Piastri about to get McLaren's first podium of the season
FASTEST LAP - LECLERC
LAST LAP
BEARMAN'S BAD LUCK CONTINUES! He loses the car and beaches it!!!
He is out of the race on the final lap!
Charles Leclerc has dominated since the first pitstops, although both Mercedes crashing out didn't hurt, it's looking like career victory 16 for car number 16, on the circuit where he scored his first, he gets his sixteenth, CHARLES LECLERC WINS THE BELGIAN GRAND PRIX!!!
(BOZ) "Race win 16 for car 16!!! Incredible, incredible job, Charles!!"
(LEC) "Let's goooooo, baby!!!! Come on!!! Ahhh, I thought we'd blown it with the stop, but it worked out. Thank you guys, good job guys."
(BOZ) "Incredible job. Increasing our lead in the Championships."
(SAN) "And P2 Lewis, good job out there today, well done!"
(HAM) "Let's keep pushing guys. We're still in this, a long way to go. Thanks mate."
(SAN) "Stay positive. Well done."

Huge breaking news ahead of this weekend's Hungarian Grand Prix, as Aston Martin have announced the signing of Gabriel Bortoleto, and renewal of Fernando Alonso for 2027.
Bortoleto will join his manager and mentor at the British Racing Green for the 2027 season, leaving Audi, on a multi-year deal.
Fernando Alonso, despite interest from Williams, has re-upped with Aston Martin, signing for 2027 with an option for 2028, should he continue on in Formula 1.
Huge news from the Formula 1 paddock, as Aston have signed one of the brightest young talents in the sport.
Lewis Hamilton has agreed a new two-year deal with Ferrari, said to take him to the 2028 season.
Hamilton has said this is likely to be his final Formula 1 contract, but has said he has "a lot more to give in Formula 1."
Hamilton will continue to partner Charles Leclerc at Scuderia Ferrari, with Leclerc confirmed until at least 2029.
Reserves:
McLaren: Pato O’Ward for Oscar Piastri (Piastri 2)
Aston Martin: Felipe Drugovich for Lance Stroll (Stroll 2)
FREE PRACTICE ONE
Charles Leclerc was quickest ahead of George Russell, with Lewis Hamilton third. Kimi Antonelli took fourth, with Max Verstappen fifth and Gabriel Bortoleto sixth. Fernando Alonso ended up seventh ahead of Carlos Sainz and McLaren reserve Pato O’Ward, Esteban Ocon rounded off the top ten. Felipe Drugovich, standing in for Lance Stroll, took P12.
FREE PRACTICE TWO
The second free practice of the day saw Lewis Hamilton about 8 hundredths up on Charles Leclerc, as Ferrari took a 1-2. Mercedes’ George Russell and Kimi Antonelli were P3 and P4, while Max Verstappen was fifth, and Lando Norris took sixth. Valtteri Bottas was ahead of Arvid Lindblad and Liam Lawson, while Fernando Alonso ended up P10.
FREE PRACTICE THREE
Mercedes started Saturday off with a 1-2, with George Russell ahead of Kimi Antonelli. Charles Leclerc took third with Lewis Hamilton fourth, while Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris were fifth and sixth. Oliver Bearman sealed seventh with Fernando Alonso eighth, Nico Hülkenberg ninth and Max Verstappen tenth.
QUALIFYING ONE
Nico Hülkenberg put together a late lap to knock out Lance Stroll, but despite their best efforts, Alex Albon and Liam Lawson could not do the same and were knocked out. Ollie Bearman’s struggles continued as he dropped out in Q1, as did Sergio Pérez and Franco Colapinto. Six different teams - Aston Martin, Cadillac, Alpine, Haas, Racing Bulls and Williams - saw the exit of one driver. Antonelli went quickest from Russell, Hamilton and Leclerc.
Out: Stroll, Pérez, Colapinto, Bearman, Lawson, Albon
QUALIFYING TWO
Lando Norris’ crash brought out the Red Flag and ended the defending Champion's session early, as he ended up 15th. Valtteri Bottas thought he’d made Q3 with a late lap, only for Esteban Ocon to knock him out. Gabriel Bortoleto went close, but couldn’t quite get Q3, and Arvid Lindblad, Pierre Gasly and Nico Hülkenberg also dropped out. Hamilton was quickest, with Leclerc P2, Russell P3 and Antonelli P4.
Out: Bottas, Bortoleto, Lindblad, Gasly, Norris, Hülkenberg
QUALIFYING THREE
It was close again between George Russell and Charles Leclerc, but Russell pipped Leclerc to Pole by 0.029, claiming his seventh Pole of the season. Kimi Antonelli took third with Oscar Piastri fourth, and Lewis Hamilton had to settle for the third row beside Max Verstappen. Isack Hadjar is on the fourth row with Carlos Sainz, while Esteban Ocon and Fernando Alonso, old team mates and rivals, are on row five.
Q3: Russell, Leclerc, Antonelli, Piastri, Hamilton, Verstappen, Hadjar, Sainz, Ocon, Alonso
Lando Norris has opted for a pitlane start, meaning P16 to P22 is promoted up one.
THE RACE
An entirely rainy race, it saw George Russell get off to a great start but Kimi Antonelli got ahead of Charles Leclerc. Leclerc and Antonelli battled for P2 as Russell opened up a gap, but Leclerc got ahead of Antonelli and chased down Russell, as Antonelli battled with Hamilton for P3, and Oscar Piastri and Max Verstappen fought for P5. Leclerc got within touching distance of Russell, but Russell defended well and re-opened the gap, and Antonelli caused more problems for Leclerc by breaking clear of Hamilton and attacking his teammate for P2. Leclerc broke clear again and Hamilton got past Antonelli for P3, but couldn’t catch his teammate. Leclerc put Russell back under pressure, and Mercedes went for the undercut, then Ferrari answered back immediately with a double stack of Leclerc and Hamilton. Then, a gamechanger. Lando Norris, in trying to overtake Nico Hulkenberg, drove Hulkenberg into the wall, ending the race of the Audi man and earning the World Champion a penalty and damage to his car, bringing out the Safety Car, and allowing Norris to take his penalty immediately. Off the restart, Leclerc got the overtake done, and Antonelli got past Hamilton. Colapinto went aquaplaning but was able to recover the car.
From there, Leclerc was in control of the race and led to the flag, but Hamilton got past Antonelli, and late issues for Russell allowed Hamilton past for P2. Leclerc took his ninth win of the season to increase his Championship lead, with Hamilton second. Russell settled for third, despite his damage, and Antonelli was fourth. Piastri came home fifth, with Verstappen sixth and Hadjar seventh. Carlos Sainz, Fernando Alonso and Valtteri Bottas also scored points for Williams, Aston Martin and Cadillac respectively.

Some huge breaking news to kick off the Summer Break, as Jonathan Wheatley will leave Audi at the end of the season to become the new Alpine Team Principal.
Wheatley has agreed a three-year deal with Alpine as their Team Principal. He will stay on as Team Principal for Audi until the end of the 2026 season, as Audi have agreed a settlement deal with Alpine.
Wheatley returns to the Enstone team having started his career with Benetton as a junior mechanic in 1991, and was their chief mechanic from 2001 to 2006, when he joined Red Bull Racing. He has been with Audi since 2024.
On a related note, Mattia Binotto will take over the role from Jonathan Wheatley on a full time basis, and is expected to make the decision on who will replace Gabriel Bortoleto at the team.
Binotto was previously the Team Principal of Scuderia Ferrari until 2022, and joined Sauber as part of the Audi project in 2024
It is believed that Wheatley and Binotto have had personal differences regarding decisions made about the time, and the exit of Gabriel Bortoleto to Aston Martin was the final straw for Wheatley. Now, they go up against each other next season.
A huge announcement by Audi, as they have signed Carlos Sainz for the 2027 season, reuniting him with his former Ferrari Team Principal Mattia Binotto.
Sainz has driven for Williams since 2025, but was previously been linked with Audi, and with Gabriel Bortoleto joining Aston Martin, Sainz has decided to switch to Audi for next season.
It is believed to be a three-year deal with the team, through to 2029.
Sainz's father, Carlos Sainz Sr, famously drove for Audi for the Dakar Rally, winning in 2024. And now his son joins the Audi team.
Sainz will be teammates with Nico Hülkenberg for the second time in their careers, with the two working together at Renault in 2017 and 2018.
Williams will be looking to confirm their lineup for 2027, but we now know it will not include Sainz.
Williams have confirmed the signing of Esteban Ocon for the 2027 season from Haas.
Williams have confirmed that Ocon will join the team on a two-year deal, partnering Alex Albon, who is confirmed through 2027.
Esteban Ocon has scored all four of Haas' points in what has been a tough season for the team. However, he's made the decision to switch to Williams for next year.
Ocon has one win, back in Hungary in 2021 for Alpine.
Ocon replaces the Audi bound Carlos Sainz, while Haas are looking for his replacement.
Speaking of Haas, they have confirmed that Oliver Bearman will drive for the team in 2027 and 2028.
Bearman has signed a new two year deal to remain with the team through the 2028 season.
Bearman has been tipped as a potential successor for Lewis Hamilton at Ferrari, but with Hamilton signing a new deal until 2028, Bearman has signed a deal with Haas for the same length of time.
Bearman has endured a tough 2026 season, however Haas have shown faith in the young English driver.
With Esteban Ocon heading for Williams, we wait to see who his teammate will be.

GABRIEL BORTOLETO TAKES FIVE PLACE GRID PENALTY
Gabriel Bortoleto will have a five place grid penalty for Sunday's Dutch Grand Prix, having taken a components penalty.
Bortoleto is over his allocated number of gearboxes this season and therefore takes a penalty for the race.
However, he qualified P20 and will start P20, due to two drivers starting from the pitlane.
KIMI ANTONELLI, ESTEBAN OCON TO TAKE PITLANE STARTS
Esteban Ocon and Kimi Antonelli will start from the pitlane due to set-up and components changes from qualifying.
Ocon initially qualified P18, while Antonelli qualified P16 but did not get out in Q2 due to engine issues.
Both drivers will start Sunday's race from the pitlane.
Well, we're back after the long Summer Break and it is still all to play for as we head to the final Dutch Grand Prix for at least the next wee while, as the circuit disappears from the calendar. Before that, we have 72 laps of this 4.259 km circuit to enjoy. Ferrari start as a 1-2, will it finish like that, or can Max Verstappen have the fairytale finish at this circuit? From Netherlands to Abu Dhabi, we are all go for this Championship now.
Kimi Antonelli and Esteban Ocon start from the pitlane, so it's Isack Hadjar who crashed in Q1 and Gabriel Bortoleto, with a five place penalty for a new gearbox, on row ten. Alex Albon starts behind Sergio Pérez on the ninth row, then it's Lance Stroll and Arvid Lindblad on row eight. Pierre Gasly starts alongside Liam Lawson, who might be in the conversation to be his teammate next year, his current teammate Franco Colapinto starts 12th with Carlos Sainz 11th. Nico Hulkenberg, Sainz's teammate next season is 10th with Valtteri Bottas 9th, then it's Fernando Alonso and Ollie Bearman, who could really do with points today, on row four. Last year's winner here, Oscar Piastri, starts sixth with Max Verstappen in his last home race for a while beginning 5th. Lando Norris starts 4th, he didn't finish last year's race, with George Russell 3rd, and Ferrari lock out the front row having double DNF'd this race last year. Lewis Hamilton starts from second, he won the Sprint yesterday, and it is the second Pole of the weekend for the Championship leader, Charles Leclerc.
Cars heading round for the formation lap now. Zandvoort says its goodbye to the F1 calendar after six years.

In some huge breaking news, Alpine have confirmed the promotion of F2 Championship leader Alex Dunne to Formula 1 for the 2027 season on a two-year deal.
Dunne becomes the first Irish driver in F1 since Eddie Irvine, and the first born in the Republic of Ireland since Tommy Byrne in 1982.
Jonathan Wheatley, the incoming Alpine Team Principal, was said to be very impressed with Dunne's F2 efforts this season and was keen to promote him.
Dunne will partner Pierre Gasly, replacing Franco Colapinto at the team for next season.
