Fernando Alonso starts the new year where he left off with a dominant win over Max Verstappen. Zane Maloney, although getting a podium on debut, was well off the pace of teammate Fernando Alonso and will be looking to close the gap to him. Ferrari had a mediocre race as did Mercedes. Esteban Ocon and Lando Norris put in solid drives for there respective teams to get some points.

Although Zane Maloney managed to make up 3 places after a horrid qualifying session, you feel as though he could've done much more considering he's in the best car. The problem for him today was he just struggled with overtaking. Alonso shows his class once again with a win and Max Verstappen was much closer today. Ferrari did slightly better than they did in Bahrain and Checo put in a fantastic drive going from P15 to P5 and getting the fastest lap. Mercedes are still the 4th fastest car and can't seem to compete with the top 3 teams. Alpine also seem to be the best midfield team still.

After Zhou Guanyu crashed out the race, it ended on a safety car which is why the gap to the car ahead is so close. Despite Zane Maloney qualifying in P3, he had a big lockup and a vsc occured right after his stop so it was just a tough day at the office for him. Alonso continues his win streak and goes 3 for 3. Meanwhile, George Russell has a good performance getting P5 in only the 4th fastest car. Alpine also had a decent weekend and so did RedBull. The VSC occured due to both McLarens crashing into eachother, so tensions down at McLaren will be high especially for Oscar who out-qualified Lando and was at his home Grand Prix.

Fernando Alonso wraps up yet another win and Zane Maloney had an incredibly good race. After a VSC occured due to Mick Schumacher crashing, Zane stayed out the pits and held up Verstappen so Fernando could fly off and get out of Verstappen's DRS. It was good teamwork and a great result for Aston Martin this weekend. Ferrari and RedBull have pretty much identical race weekends to all the ones before and Mercedes had an ok weekend. Alpine will be happy to have outscored Mercedes this weekend. Alfa Romeo continue one of there worst seasons as there best finish is still only 16th.
