#Decision making setup system option

It would be more exciting if the setup is the decision between some trade-off. For example, optimizing in (which) corners vs straights, performance vs degradation, and so on. Preferably, I can choose options to test in FP and they affect in some region like long runs in certain tyres decrease the uncertainty in strategy (I think the strategy prediction should be more uncertain in the beginning of the race or without long runs in FP). In this case, maybe I want to arrange the strategy according to the result of some tests during FP. On the other hand, I understand the current setup system to target simply 100% would be friendly to new fans or casual users, so I will be happy if you have such an option to choose or change them in game difficulties.

frankly this seems like the obvious way to go about it. Theres lots of factors you could target in setup and testing

You mention corners vs straights, you could comfortably put deg into that equation to make it a triangle. Does a high deg setup that's fast pace in quali fall apart during the race?

Maybe you can test for rain performance and have a setup thats good in the rain but suffers elsewhere?

I think the fundamental problem with the attitude of the game here is that it asks you to make mechanical decisions for setup and testing, instead of strategic ones. I shouldn't be deciding wing angle, I should be deciding if I want to test for the fastest laps or if I want to do weird runs that don't help me now but let the team understand the car better.
