Routing is very different to other frameworks, deliberately. I like to be able to separate my routes out, away from the rest of the Kernel bootstrapping, this is largely due to my history with Symfony, and other older MVC frameworks. This type of architecture allows you to organise your system to suit you, rather than having to follow what the framework tells you to do.
