Server Rules

For server moderation purposes, members who verify must allow DMs from the bot @inland nimbus. Members are asked NOT to block any staff members, as this infringes on their ability to do their job.

1. Discord’s TOS and Guidelines

• You agree to follow Discord’s Terms of Service and Discord’s Community Guidelines.
• As per Discord’s TOS, members must be at least 13 years old to use Discord and interact on this server. Any member found to be under the age of 13 will be kicked from the server.

2. Respect

• Be respectful to all staff, fellow members, and bots.
• This includes but is not limited to: bullying, harassment, offensive comments, hateful speech, toxic behavior, aggression, bigotry, discriminatory language, and slurs of any variety.
• Swearing in a hurtful or derogatory manner to others is not tolerated.
• Unfamiliarity is not an excuse for disrespect. If there is a part of someone’s identity that you don’t understand, kindly ask them about it or do independent research.
• Please refrain from using flashing GIFs or images out of respect for those with photosensitivity.

3. Server Language

• This is a PG-13 server. Please censor NSFW and dark topics as appropriate. As EPIC and ILIUM have non PG-13 content, you are allowed to discuss it within the server. However, when engaging with others in this space, keep in mind that there are children as young as 13 in this server.
• Controversial topics are prohibited (e.g. religion, politics, etc.).
• Please refrain from discussing extremely sensitive topics outside of the content of EPIC/ILIUM (e.g. sexual assault, graphic depictions of violence, etc.).
• Self-deprecation is discouraged on this server, and venting is not allowed. Our goal is to create an encouraging, uplifting community and by putting forth this recommendation, we hope to create a positive, safe space for all.
• Staff moderates the server in English, and extended conversations in other languages should be DMed between interested parties.

4. Pings and Mentions

• Pinging Jorge and/or EPIC: The Musical collaborators is not tolerated.
• Please respect Jorge’s closed DM status and refrain from sending him messages. Do not attempt private communication with him or the EPIC collaborators.
• Staff members' DMs are open to everyone for questions and help; however, please refrain from spamming them with unnecessary pings or DMs.

5. Personal Privacy

• The sharing or releasing of personal information of another member is prohibited.
• Please do not ask another member for private information unsolicited.
• If at any point another user is harassing you or making you feel unsafe, please immediately reach out to any staff member for assistance.
• DMs between members and/or groups should be kept private unless all parties agreed otherwise or for staff purposes. This is to avoid inciting any drama and/or any misunderstanding(s).
• Profile pictures and/or usernames/nicknames of any EPIC cast members are prohibited. This is to avoid confusion among server members and discomfort on the part of the collaborators.
• Profile pictures using official EPIC album art and usernames/nicknames using saga titles are prohibited.

6. Viruses and Trolling

• Sending propaganda, linking harmful malware, viruses or other harmful programs is prohibited.
• Please do not spam any channels. This includes but is not limited to: sending repeated words or phrases, sending more than five photos or links at a time, and sending GIFs repeatedly.
• Intentionally matching profile pictures and/or nicknames/handles to be identical with other members’ is prohibited.
• Alt accounts are prohibited. You may only have one account on the server.

7. Links and Invites

• All links should be sent in their corresponding channel to avoid clogging up the chatroom.
• Sharing links promoting one’s work, social media, etc. is permitted within the proper channels; however, server invites are not allowed and must be DMed to interested parties.
• Monetary solicitations of any kind are not permitted.

8. Systems & Plurality

• Please note: this rule section is about plurality caused by dissociative disorders, NOT roleplay. When speaking to someone who is part of a system, you are interacting with a real person and should treat them with the same respect you would give any other member. There is a pinned Carrd in the general chatroom with educational information on systems and plurality to help prevent misunderstandings.
• Systems can get the “We Are A System” role from the #💙︱reaction-roles channel.
• Alters who are under the age of 13 are not permitted to message or talk within the server, as per Discord's TOS. If an alter under the age of 13 is found messaging or talking in the server, the user will be timed out until a staff member can speak with an alter who is 13 or older.
• In order to protect all parties and reduce confusion within the server, factive alters sourced from EPIC collaborators are not allowed on the server. Fictive alters sourced from EPIC characters participate at their own discretion and are responsible for appropriately managing their engagement with potentially triggering EPIC content and related server discussions.
• We, the staff team, want to offer our full support to systems in the server. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to an admin with any questions regarding these rules!

9. Art and FanFiction

• Art theft is strictly prohibited.
• All generative AI is strictly prohibited. This includes AI art, ChatGPT, Character.AI, etc.
• For all art, especially digital, we encourage you to include your signature and medium/digital software (e.g. Procreate, Photoshop, etc.)
• Ship art of the actual voice actors is prohibited.
• EPIC fanfiction cannot be posted or linked within the server, but users may DM links to any interested parties.

10. Events and Games

• Only event hosts are allowed to host games/events.
• Members may play all Discord Arcade games EXCEPT for Gartic Phone. Gartic Phone must be hosted by an event host.
• Roleplay (RP) is prohibited.
• Karaoke may only be hosted by event hosts.
• Outside of karaoke events, the only songs that can be sung in VCs are official EPIC songs (both past and future sagas).
• Video games streamed by members in VCs must be rated either E (everyone) or T (teen).

11. Final Remarks

• The rules stated above are not an exhaustive list.
• Finding and using loopholes to the above rules may result in a kick or ban.
• Please feel free to report any infractions.
• These rules are subject to necessary updates at any time! Staff can and will enact warnings, mutes, kicks and/or bans when deemed appropriate on a case-by-case basis (this includes members who intentionally spread negativity or deliberately and consistently cause issues in chat). We do our best to be fair and reasonable in determining appropriate consequences to rule infractions and ask that all members respect any decisions made.
