#Null/Shock and CLV (and Transcend)

At the Calling Christchurch, I had a situation where my opponent played two blue transcend cards (the only blues played this turn), I had Null/Shock in hand and called a Judge who I spoke to away from the table. I asked if I negated one of the transcend cards, would the other still transcend. The judge said that it would not. They said negate "removes" the transcend card. So I returned to the table and made that play. My opponent didn't appeal and seemed to expect that ruling.

At a recent PQ, my opponent attacked with Starfall and then played a Channel Lightning Valley in the reaction step. I played a Null/Shock and negated the Channel. My opponent called a Judge to ask if Starfall would still get the +1 and go again from a lightning card being played and the ruling was that it did. I referenced my ruling at the Calling to the judge but he said he couldn't find any reason it would be ruled that way and in his mind, the other card should have transcended.

I was wondering if I could get some clariety on how negated cards are treated, are they considered played after they have been negated or not? Also, please let me know if I've missed something that differentiates the two situations above.

negated cards fail to resolve, but transcend is just looking for a blue to have been played, which is how double transcend even works in the first place

so yeah, the ruling you got at the calling was incorrect
