Does having a 10,000 Year Reunion or Rage Specter defending on the combat chain count as controlling an illusionist aura in regards to Essence of Ancestry: Body textbox therefore not triggering the effect when it is destroyed?

Correct. The effect will still trigger, but the damage prevention will not apply.
