iris of Reality and ward auras

Hi!
If I attack with a waning vengeance with my iris of reality and I take damage from emeritus scolding (facing a blaze) making ne destroy my aura, does the go again resolve and I still have an action point ?

If the attack leaves the chain prior to the damage step the combat chain moves directly into the close step as a game rule, skipping over the link step, so you do no get an action point from go again
