Hello, Kano vs prism, Kano banishes a card, prism activates halo, put a herald in soul, activate prism, can kano wait to hear that they are getting figment of judgement before playing their card, or do they need to respond to the activation of prism? Or can they not respond at all if prism uses halo in the resolution window of kano's effect?

the answer is slightly different depending on whose turn it is.

  1. Kano's turn: After Kano's ability resolves, he regains priority, so if he decides to play the banished card he can do so and Prism does not have a chance to do anything in between the card being banished and being played.
  2. Prism's turn: After the ability resolves, Prism regains priority and may activate halo before Kano has a chance to play the banished card.

In either case (either kano did something other than play the banished card immediately or it's prism's turn) Kano has two windows to interact. He can either respond to the activation of halo (after it destroys itself), or he can respond to the figment of judgment trigger when it enters the battlefield. Notably figment of judgment does not target, so he will need to respond before prism decides which card to turn face-down
