How does piercing work if you attack with a weapon twice on the same chainlink and the first attack is defended by an equipment? Does it keep or lose the piercing buff?

Visit the imperial forge gives weapon attacks piercing, not the weapon itself, so the buff will not carry over to subsequent chain links
