#Add a new Godai Element upgrade that consumes eggs

Eggs are a fairly new resource at the moment but they have the problem of being of limited use. At some point all the pets will be maxed and eggs will be become useless outside of event quests.

Therefore I propose a new Godai Element upgrade that allows you, similar to keys, to spend eggs. It is not so important what the upgrade actually does but it would make sense to somehow buff pet effects.

Even before reaching the point of maxing all pets this change could also become interesting because it offers players another way of spending a resource, giving them more room for decision making. Right now it is very simple, you get an egg and you open it, maybe wait with that for an event but that's it.

this would be pay to win because you can buy eggs direct from the shop

besides the pay to win i think it's a good idea

I think you could argue that pay to win isn't really a problem for a single player game and well, the katana and kimono fall into a similar category

the katana and kimono have a ending not like the godai elements

having an ending doesnt really make them not pay to win, however we want to use that term here

Or you could have 3 godai elements, each using the points from critter, beast, and bird. That way you still use the eggs instead of dumping them. They could be bonuses such as increase rate of bond gain, increase base ability of each pet type, and chance of higher quest rarity. That way it's a bit more indirect and not a strait up pay to win.

Having another use for these would also solve the problem. I like the idea. However adding 3 more godai elements sounds like it could become its own thing apart from the godai elements and something within the pet collection. bond gain is of limited use again because once you bonded with every pet this becomes useless, I like better quest rarity so why not, but of course increase base ability for pets would make the most sense so I would go for that

I would agree that this is no longer a Pay to Win option - you get free eggs every day, you get free eggs from the quests. And 10 eggs for 800 amber is a HEFTY price to pay for anything that's pay to play. I am a pay for play player, and have the Kimono and the Katana - it would be much more expensive to raise an egg-flavored Godai element to reasonable levels.

Also, for people who can't envision themselves EVER earning 177k from farming critters to go from level 11 to level 12 (or who honestly just have a favorite pet and aren't planning to go further than necessary for the achievements on the other pets) it gives a functional alternative for eggs even before you "top out" your pets.

If it comes to p2w I think there are way worse elements in the game right now, like perfect ascension

only thing he has said in public is that atm its not possible cause how easy it is to cheat

not yet, but its still possible, we also have the Dan system that is a bit like a ranking, the most achievements are bound to player progression which would be much easier to obtain with the buff, you can see that after each content patch more players are ranking up but its limited to the amount of upgrades that are available, in the godais its not limited so you can spend as much money as you want

ik but you said there will be one

in conclusion even with a leaderboard we are far enough where some people couldnt catch up unless they spent serious money......but leaderboards arent the point of this game. im probably not eligible for leaderboards anyways so thats how im remaining unbiased

take a battle royale if they introduce a leaderboard half a year after release and all stats save to that then someone is going to be at the bottom and some at the top

Would it hurt to have separate leaderboards for players who have paid for amber vs players who haven't, or who have only paid for cosmetic rewards?

well yes because some people might only buy amber one time and other people buy a fuckton

Yes, but I'm taking for granted the fact that Shamahan would, in tandem with this change, add purely cosmetic purchase options for the folks who just wanna support the dev without gaining gameplay-altering advantages.

That being said, upon further thought, having a separate leaderboard for amber-buying players could pose a problem while the purchase of amber is encouraged by the event quests involving amber usage.

by definition p2w is only a problem when it bothers other people

#

if it is not affecting other people then does it really matter what people use their money on?
