Anyone else get bad lag when using the e36? I know it’s a higher quality then most cars & Maybe it’s unrelated but my fps seems to tank when I have the e36 out lol. I also don’t have the strongest rig but no other cars cause it.

Is it going to a blue/grey screen? If so I'm pretty sure that's just mod utils verifying EA on launch. As if my wifi is slow or not on, I get stuck on it for ages. With Internet it takes ~2 or 3 seconds at most after the first time.

Don't really want to add to this debate or make it worse or anything, But I thought i'd give my view.

The intention was actually to release coronet in EA before, But there was a lot of pressure to get a release date out, so I gave one. I knew the mod was not gonna be functional by then, But tbh, you don't really get a choice with that sort of stuff, People will say "Oh it cannot be that bad, I've seen your stuff!" etc, Which is kind. But its not true. Because most don't see the process you go through when developing your mod, they don't consider that the images they see from updates is just the positive progress you've made, and not the 2 days you spent fixing bugs from adding new functions.

In-fact I do heavily regret not making it EA. Because now I have a much harder job to do, I have to fix the remaining major bugs with the car without corrupting anyone else's cars. Because people put a lot of hard work into cars they like. Last thing I wanna do is ruin that.

And I do think it has actually hurt the growth of the mod, due to the reputation that it got first day, Which is fine, Its ultimately my fault for caving in and releasing early to please people. But i think its a great example to me at least, as to why its good practice to release to a controlled pool of users first, Before making it fully public.

Do I think that there are too many EA mods atm?

Yes, I think some modders have a habit of starting mods, then starting other mods, and end up with tons of WIP mods that stretch them thin. and i think that is something we should be trying to change, or try to discourage.

Ultimately, my view is EA is important for modders, it lets us test our mods to a expanded pool of people, who understand the risks of using the mod, it lets us solve big bugs that we couldn't catch before the rest of public uses them. And makes the user experience better. But i do think some modders need to finish some projects, and get them out there so more can enjoy them!

In my case I put mod on EA because of many reasons like there wasn’t tutorial how upload mod and make auto update work,I wanted to fix bugs,and keep mod locked because it’s still in WIP for steam update

About modding for small and simple mods like furniture yes mostly there’s only little modeling and just scripting
But for mod like this there’s lots of modeling and parts are made from scratch plus all parts need to fit properly so it’s not that easy even if you get models with parts from some sites or games they don’t fit to your model you think if I take e36 parts from other games and put to my car gonna fit like a glove NO you need to edit part and then you basically end up creating your own part because you realize it’s more easier and for mod like this it’s also lot of scripting not fucking 5lines and that’s it

I think you have some wrong information. I know 2 modder who uses ea with patreon membership. Both buy the models they use. And if the mods are ready, they will be released for free. To make a car mod working is more then a bit of code and modeling. I used 2 free models for the f100 mod and I think I needed more then 150h of modeling for that. It used ea and patreon, after it was ready for final release it was free avaible on nexus.
