I swapped an engine from another car and on my test drive it disappears. Specifically when i leave the shop by the car dealer it comes and goes if I roll the car back and fourth. The engine sound is still there and exhaust smoke just no visible engine.

I've had engines I bought from the junkyard "disappear" on the trip from the junkyard to my shop only to find I could still pick them up, they were invisible. I saw the engine block label pop up trying to pick up something else and was just like "Hmm I wonder..." picked it up, the truck lifted a bit like a lot of weight was removed, I walked over and dropped it where I keep my engines and next load it was there.

Yeap, that is 100% the optimization messing up.

If it is running even though it is invisible it is most likely just the game optimization like Fedes said. It is still there, so should be fine and show up with the next load.

I knew about this bug but ignored it because it only happened when i flew with Noclip to sell a engine
