A screenshot would help to see what's happening.

you'd need to make your own version of Audacity for this unfortunately

#

you don't necessarily need to be fluent in C++ for this, but you do need to be vaguely comfortable with coding and know how to replace some variables

It doesn't look any different from mine. It is even smaller than other cursors (e.g. the hand)
Based on your screenshot, I can clearly see dots. I can easily change the values (see animated gif)

Thanks for the clip. For me it is a nice size to work with. Have a look at the clip. Is this what you mean?

To begin with, this clip is from the latest version of Audacity (3.4.2).
What you see is a sine tone, generated, for this demonstration, by Audacity.
I zoom in (a lot, as you can see), select the Draw Tool (F3) from the taskbar, and start 'painting'.

#

By the way, this function has limited use!
I use it sporadically to correct the transition between two joined clips.

(did you know that alt-clicking in the draw tool has an autosmooth function attached to it?)

Nice! (pity it does not do extrapolation)
On that front, the clip fix functionality is really impressive!! (it saved my bacon occasionally. Nowadays, I record in 32-bit float, no worries there)
