One of the most frequently asked questions, especially when a game is about to launch, is: what lineup should a player invest in, both as a free-to-play (F2P) player and as someone willing to spend.
In this guide, I won’t tell you exactly what to do or where to invest; instead, I’ll help you make an informed decision.
First: What are the main ways to obtain a hero? From the most F2P
Tavern Heroes:
This is considered the most F2P as tavern heroes are easy to obtain, including low-rarity heroes and some legendary ones, such as Josephine, Joan of Arc, Darius, Harald, Hammurabi, YSS, Cleopatra, and King Derrick (he is not a tavern hero but is offered for free through a special event).
Legendary Advent Event Heroes (or Wheel Heroes)
In this event, you get tickets to spin a wheel for rewards. Tickets can be earned by spending empire coins or purchasing bundles, but the game also offers free spins, with some spins being reservable. This makes wheel heroes more accessible than those from the Hero Rally.
Hero Rally:
In Hero Rally, heroes can be purchased with coins, which are obtained by spending empire coins or buying bundles. While these heroes are still accessible to F2P players, they are typically more expensive than wheel heroes.
Note: This has changed recently. The Hero Rally system was adjusted and is now considered cheaper than the wheel.
Mightiest Governor Event (MGE):
This major event rewards players with heroes based on their ranking. Two heroes are available during each event: one requires a lower rank to unlock, while the other can only be obtained by securing higher ranks. Currently, high-rank heroes are exclusively available through this event.
Pay-walled Heroes:
Some heroes can only be obtained by purchasing bundles, such as those found in daily chests, the Kingdom Hoard (pass), or VIP chests.
Now, onto the main topic:
You may have heard that pikemen are currently the most popular troop type. Let me clarify why that is:
