Hello,

Today I tested a new 5 inch drone with a GPS TBS M8 and F7 CPU and I got some pretty bad behaviours.

  1. Came to the landing position and disarm on air
  2. Came to the landing position and start descending really bad, stopping and sometimes even going up.
  3. Came to the landing position and start descending kind of smooth.
  4. Came to the landing position and start descending really bad and going up really fast so I aborted.

The trip to the landing location was not smooth either.

The drone is running BF 4.5.1 and 8/4 and D600.

Any idea why GPS RTH is not working properly?

Thanks

I think its based on an M10 GPS since BF 4.5

It may still work with an M8 GPS, but I had problems unless I used an M10.

With an M8 I had rescue work fine one time, until it came to landing and the thing started swooping me. Other times it ploughed into the grass after turning to face back towards me.

The Walksnail M10 GPS should be a same size swap for it

Oh, ok. I thought M10 has better but not mandatory 🫠

According to the documentation it support from M6 to M10

A working GPS module that supports UBlox commands. UBlox is recommended and is now the default. We support M6 through M10 UBlox modules.

One of my m8 builds works just fine. Tell more about the drone - Does the Rescue have default settings in CLI? I ask because have seen (for example) iFlight is shipping quads with bad Rescue settings on 4.5. Can you post a ‘diff all’ from cli to look for issues config wise?

M8 should work fine. Check your settings are all at defaults.
If descent is problematic disable Baro.
