woeful chasm
I was helping a newbie remotely and 5hrs into it we got everything setup and working except the Receiver wasn't responding. IDK what he did, but suddenly it wouldn't connect to Betaflight anymore. We gave up for the night, but came back to it the next day.
Installed driver fixer
tried flashing
tried connecting blheli32
tried different computers and usb cables
pulled the FC out completely, tried the above again, then finally used the boot button and tried to flash that way.
Nothing seemed to work. My conclusion was that the FC fried somehow, but IDK how this is even possible at that stage of the game. We were way past spinning motors, flashing the ESC and reversing. Ports were all setup according to wiring diagrams. I was convinced he had the wiring to the o3 wrong, as the FC pinout seemed funky, but no proof of that.
FC is a Lumenier F7 (I've not had good luck with a similar one from Lumenier , but that's another story)
Any insight as to what to try next before replacing the FC?
