Its fundamental flaw is that its boring. Devil Fruits are a very tired concept and Haki is a desperate bandaid to bring back appeal to Devil fruits by having barebones interactions. It lacks nuance

Geges writing is kinda mid but he knows how to keep people engaged so while it's mid below surface it's actually not bad, like he knows how to create cool characters, cool settings and how to make fans angry without losing them
