She did not know that there was dissent, only a minor rebellion which is par of the course for any governmental decrees due to downplaying from the paid-off kujou head. She took away the visions because she was informed that the people wanted their vision to be taken away to pursue their vision of eternity. The doll worked for 500 years.

esp when his clan was in decline. he wouldnt have stayed to rebuild everything, just leave, like the prototype puppet.

Ei only truly made one mistake and that is she took too long to finish grieving for makoto but thats in human years.
Its kinda hard to quantity how long is too long for mental health, esp a god's mental health.

Morax always watched over his people and descended occasionally so they wouldn’t always rely on him to solve all their issues, which is why he liked someone like Keqing who always questions the gods. Even went as far as to use the fatui to create a scenario to prove to everyone humanity can overcome any challenges which worked

Most Inazuman Characters are stupid as well. They didn't need traveler at all. They just needed Yoimiya to set off Fireworks, Sayu to steal the documents, it wouldn't take any difficulty for Ayato, Yae, or Sara to bring this to the Shogun's attention.

Also I don't get how Raiden was called a Dictator, aren't all archons (I guess Venti makes an exception) dictators whenever, wherever. If we're classifying dictator by Oppressiveness, then Ei never had that type of ruling. She just happened to be oblivious about the Deaths happening. The Yashiro Commission even formed a petition to abolish the Vision Hunt Decree, the Tenryou, and Kanjou Commission just happened to sign against it, this suggests even a lowly petition questions an Archon's decree.

Venti, Zhongli, and Ei were barely an active functioning member of their society. The only difference is that Venti had the Lawrence Clan, and Ei had the Kujou, and Hiiragi Clan

Also I'd like to remind everyone that the purpose of the Vision Hunt Decree was the lower the deaths in Inazuma because a person with powers would voluntarily risk their lives fighting monsters. Not to mention its a very human law synonymous to Illegalizing Possession of Firearms.

But I can see it being argued that it was a reference in general and not about the current vision hunt decree battles.

I don’t think the first conversation is a very convincing argument because although it could be 100% true that Yae believes Ei would reconsider her policy based on the fact that she doesn’t know about people who have died, it could also be that Yae is just appealing to Sara. Like even if Yae knew that Ei wouldn’t change her on that mind based on that, Sara does care about the deaths and Yae could just be using that argument to get Sara on their side. The second conversation however, the only thing the Fatui deceived her on was about not writing about the deaths and conflicts among civilians iirc. And Ei admits that she had flaws in her judgement because of that misinformation so yeah she would’ve done things differently had she known about the deaths.

So I do agree now, it does seem like such an important thing though I feel like they should’ve brought it up more than once and be a little more clear because it does change her character a lot

I just personally thought that Ei was willing to sacrifice some lives during the war to kind of normalize a country where people didn’t have visions. Like if her plan worked then in 20 years if someone somehow got a vision it would’ve been much easier to just give it up as soon as you got it if no one else around you had a vision and everyone followed the rules. Unlike at the time where people had their visions for a long time and were used to them, and some still had theirs, etc. No one wanted to give it up and so it had to be taken by force and It was just messy.

I feel like people also neglect the fact that the Shogun Puppet and Ei have different operating methods. Ei is vastly more compassionate than the Raiden Shogun, but she left all decision making to it after she went into the Plane of Euthymia. The Shogun operates exclusively with whatever rules Ei programmed into it, which boils down to keep Inazuma in stasis and resist change, and both Decrees accomplish that goal. As far as the Shogun was concerned, everything was going according to plan and there was no need to worry about the details. Since the Shogun didn’t care about the feelings of the people, it would have no reason to report it to Ei, who actually would have cared.

Based what I know from playin on Genshin and also from the trailers, I don't think Fatui is the big bad baddie here, they seems to have much more bigger goal, something involves fighting against Celestial. Their method might be extreme but it seems that they put their mission above anything else. So Celestial is the final boss of Genshin? I didn't read the manga, so any lore professor can enlighten me about it..

Also for those who wanted to know, here's a simplified version of who the hell heizou's dead friend is, like all the other anemo in this game

In his vision story, heizou had a best friend, the best friend stole toys and books from a merchant's guild, this angered heizou and said they weren't friends anymore.

when he returned home, he started throwing the toys his friend gave away, all but an anemo vision, he looked at it and tried throwing it away, only for it to bounce back and roll under his bed, heizou now irate fell on the ground like a frog with a punctured stomach refusing to move. A year later a festival where the two met returned, heizou found the vision and decided to bring it with him.

On the same day he didn't expect to see his friend on the side of the road in a pool of his own blood, in the screams of the crowd, moments before the friend had got into a scuffle with ruffian who wanted to steal his mora pouch and stabbed his heart in a panic.

Heizou rushed over to his good friend, his vision falling by the side. Catching sight of it his friend asked,

"Come here to see me, did you... Heizou?"

Heizou tried to put pressure on his friend to stop the bleeding, only for it to seep through his fingers, heizou was filled with anger more then last year,

"Just shut up! Shut up!" Heizou yelled.

His friend shook his head, and with great effort opened his purse. There was not a single Mora inside — nothing but the green pebble that had belonged to him(the friend)

Squeezing the last ounce of his strength out, he held the pebble out to Heizou with a smile broader than when they had parted.

Heizou did not recall how he had returned home. His mind was blank, filled with nothing but rage and disgust.

This thing had mixed deception into friendship, and it had caused life to be cut short before its time. "Sin." That was its name.

But it was not his friend's sin of deception or theft, nor was it the murder that the thief committed.
It was a culmination of all the sins in this world.

One morning a month later,
Heizou sneaked out of doors to travel afar, leaving a farewell note behind. He had found his enemy, and he would now embark on a journey to make war against it.

A year later the festival where the two met came, heizou went to go only to see his friend in a pool of his own blood who was stabbed in the heart by a ruffian who tried to steal his mora pouch, heizou tried to save him, but the friend denied it and only gave him his pouch, there was no mora and only the vision he owned. Turns out he and the friend wanted to meet again. Heizou returned home with an enemy he found, the enemy of the worlds sins. He snook out a month later to fight a war with the sins of the world, only the vision in his arsenal.

It's tragic

But now we know the question of what came first? The death or the anemo vision:
