First of all why are you using a staff, get the space gun. This would not be an issue with the voidlings slowing the fire rate, but either lag, or the staff just refusing to work

Ok so this is still an issue, and no "just use the space gun" is not an answer. From my experience the axes that the enemies hold just mess up most ranged weapons, I have no idea why but trying to shoot them while looking at them straight on or from the side of the axe just eats your shots. It's very frustrating when these are the only non-limited weapons that are viable against these guys, considering ping makes the light enemies hit you from further away than your melees can even reach
