Both are proper powerplay batters who don’t need a sighter. Head goes hard at anything back of a length and scores square straight away, De Kock looks most comfortable with the new ball, plays spin easily in the powerplay, once he gets through the first couple of overs the line starts to look cheap because the boundaries just come to him.

Tail at your own risk

Naib and Banton are both a bit boxed in by their roles. Naib usually comes in after the powerplay and ends up dealing with proper pace while trying to rebuild or stabilize, so he just doesn’t see enough balls consistently. Banton in reality is often under pressure early in a deep lineup, and one mistimed shot can end it quickly. That’s really the difference here

Went Myers under because it’s more about opportunity than talent. He’s a middle-order guy facing Australia’s new-ball pace, and in games like this those spots often end up facing 10–15 balls max. 12.5 looks small, but without volume it’s actually a tricky number.
Took Head over because he opens and strikes at 150+ in the powerplay. If he gets even 15–20 balls, that’s basically in his normal scoring range. Once he’s through the first over, 28 doesn’t feel like much for him.

Went Bennett under because against Australia’s new-ball attack Starc and Hazlewood put pressure early and getting powerplay runs are very risky for batters. His recent T20 average is closer to 10–12 than 18+, so 17.5 basically needs a clean start.

Renshaw under because he’s not a natural high-tempo T20 batter and usually bats at 3 or 4. His strike rate sits around 120–130, so clearing 19 means either facing 18 to 20 balls or a quick burst. Against one of the best bowling attacks in the world, that’s asking him to perform well above his typical game.
