Qinwen: She’s averaging 6.8 aces on the season so far so 5.5 is a nice place in my opinion. She is also over this number in 8/10 matches to start the season, and is at the top of the list this year for 1st serve points won. Kasatkina is a solid returner but I believe the court speed will benefit Qinwen. Also add in that this could be a tight back and forth (3 sets for more chances🤞🏻) we could get plenty of opportunities to go over this number.

Arthur: The 18 year old Arthur Fils has looked impressive this week in Montpellier and he looks like he can go further from here. He has ousted Richard Gasquet, RBA, and now takes on Quentin Halys. The two met last year during the Turin Challenger, but Arthur’s recent form and play results in me giving him the edge.

Fils topped this his next match by beating world #24 RBA 6-3 6-4. That earned him a date with fellow Frenchman Quentin Halys for a spot in the last four, and the 18-year-old delivered yet again as we know, winning 7-6 6-3. Arthur may not beat Jannik tomorrow, but with his recent form and play, he could make tomorrow a very close / competitive match.

Belinda Bencic O 21.0 games❌

• Do not be fooled by the bump from 21.5 -> 21.0, Beatriz is tough. Though Bencic is the highest ranked player left in the draw, Haddad Maia has been playing very well herself this week, even beating the Australian Open finalist and reigning Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina. Bencic, like Sinner, may also win, but Beatriz will not go away easily. She is always a tough out at tour level

Qinwen Zheng O 14.0 fs (outright winner) 🅿️
-Qinwen (as we all saw if you played her prop) disposed of the #1 seed of the tournament Daria Kasatkina this morning rather easily. She only dropped three games (gg aces 🥲) in the process and is showing an amazing level of play. She had beaten #2 Jelena Ostapenko as well in her previous match and is yet to drop a set this week. Her high level of play is likely to continue and should allow her to claim her spot in the final.

Though he (RBA) has had a “meh” start to the season, he has played Hubert well over the years as he is a consistent and durable grinder. This will be Hubert’s 1st match since the AO but I expect his ball-striking to keep this one competitive like the previous.

Zverev:
-Soon Woo 🇰🇷 has an opening here with Alexander still working his way back into form from his ankle injury. Soon Woo has been playing well lately (Won the Adelaide tournament not too long ago) and has been working the baseline well which should make this competitive enough to see the O games here. I see Zverev relying heavily on his serve as the conditions will favor him, but Soon Woos consistency should keep this close enough.

Alex also played well earlier today collecting an impressive first round win over Andrey Rublev in straight sets. Though Max dropped a set in his opener, I still see this being a very close back and forth that will allow us to see the over games. I see Cressy winning; but in 3.

Felix:❌
-Of the pair I expect Felix to be the “sweat” as he is working his way back to defend his Rotterdam title. He however, starts slow usually and for this reason I am going O 22.0 games as I think a slow start could prove costly against Barrere who is playing really good tennis as of late, especially indoors. Felix should win, but this will definitely be a test for him.

-This is an interesting matchup that doesn’t look close on paper if you are going simply off H2H records. Though Felix has never beaten Daniil, he has shown glimpses of improvement each match. It’s been an interesting start to Daniil’s 2023 year so this will be as good a chance as any for Felix to work towards evening the score. If he is to do so he will need to rely heavily on his serve which he is capable of indoors.

Jannik:✅
-Jannik disposed of Stefanos rather easily today. He looked exceptionally well and looked as if he could compete against and challenge the best. Stan is beyond his prime and I expect Jannik to take full advantage of his movement in this match.

-Continuing off yesterdays writeup about him, kids playing solid tennis. Transitioning to Andy, he’s coming off back to back to back 3 setters but he’s a continual grinder that will not make a trip to the finals easy for Jiri. You can never count him out as he’s had a few epic wins already in 2023. Experience will be on his side and I see him making this a competitive back and forth with Jiri allowing me to go with O games here.

-One of the greatest returners of all time, Daniil Medvedev, has reached yet another semi final. It wasn’t without some trouble along away however. Though he also owns the H2H 5-0 you have to think Felix is bound to push Med at some point considering his recent play. If Felix can push it to a 3rd set I could see Med clearing this number quite easily. In the event it goes straights it is also a number Med is more than capable of clearing as seen last week in Rotterdam.

Grigor:✅
-I trust both of these men to be strong on serve tomorrow. Grigor has had a solid start to 2023 with his only losses so far coming from Novak, Stefanos, and Daniil. Bublik has also looked good in Marseille thus far after desperately searching for his first win of the season. Guy can check himself out of matches mentally but I’m trusting his recent play to make tomorrow competitive.

My 3 mix and matches for tomorrow mornings matches. 1st round of the tournaments so going to be going starting small.

🚨If you play Novak, play lighter. I always always always always always always say I do not recommend bumps🚨 .

Novak & Daniil:
-Pairing these two together in reasoning because it is essentially same scenario. The two best returners in the tournament (arguably the world) going up against (no disrespect to them) much lesser competition. Novak is coming off a dominant run at the Australian Open (which he did on one leg) and should be good and rested. It will be tough for Machac to pose a threat tomorrow. Daniil is on a 9 match win streak and has won back to back tournaments since his loss to Seb Korda at the Open. The only thing that could save Matteo tomorrow would be lack of rest for Daniil.

Emil:
-On paper Emil is the “better” player and has had a decent start to his 2023 season though his record might say otherwise. he’s played some pretty tough competition thus far with notable losses coming from Stefanos, Jiri, Rublev, and Cressy. Despite the losses, he is still a solid player. Likewise Christopher O Connell has also been playing pretty good tennis as of late, even pushing Daniil Medvedev to a tight decider last week at Doha.

-When picking players I take into consideration a lot of things with a players mental and composure being big things for me as well. Fabio is a firecracker that throws matches at times and was hobbled in his last match. I like my chances with TME as he’s the more consistent and in form player right now.

Nicolas:
-Nicolas and JPV will be meeting for the 7th time later today. Both have been playing extremely well as of late and this should again be another tight back and forth between the two.

-For this one I am going to firstly be pointing towards the physical grind it is to be a professional player on tour. Just a few days ago Hubert was in Marseille playing in the final and is again being tasked with another quick turnaround. Surely the matches and travel will weigh a toll on him again tomorrow morning as it did this morning (Narrowly escaped the upset to Shevchenko). Pavel has been in Dubai playing matches already and is coming off a big win against the heavy Australian server Alexei Popyrin. I am hoping Pavel can replicate the performance (only lost serve twice, both coming in the 2nd set) which gets me to lean O games here.

Novak:
-Despite todays performance let us not forget this is the best player in the world. We’ve seen a similar pattern from him in both tournaments he’s played in this year. I have no problem backing Novak again here as his performances seem to only get better as the tournament progresses. Despite Tallons solid start to the year it will be tough for him to contend.

I really like both of these lines. Will be pairing with some NFL props for later today. Before the tournament started all the chatter was about a Novak vs Carlos rematch (I included), but Med silenced all doubters with a flawless performance on Friday. Djokovic’s level has been consistent throughout the tournament outside of the near hiccup against Djere. The same can also be said for Medvedev as his form has been quite spectacular this month. With that being said, it’s hard for me to see this matchup going anything less than 4 sets.

Also if Novak is serving with less pace and more precision as he did against Ben it will be hard for him to cover his ace line. Med is known for his return position that allows him to at least get a racquet on the ball. Conditions have been a bit slower as well which will benefit Med. Novak did clear in Adelaide and Dubai earlier this year, but speeds were a bit quicker.

I do have Lloyd as the outright winner, but I have him doing so in 3 as he has been having fitness issues as he is still working his way back into form. Vukic O 13.0 games:
Both are very good from the baseline, but I believe Vukic comes out on top later today due to him having a stronger serve. Vukic has also played in a few tournaments in Asia this year (challengers level however) with him making it to the finals in 2/3 events. He did beat solid players along the way such as Chris Eubanks, Lloyd Harris, and Max Purcell. Surely the experience allows him to settle into the conditions.

•Jannik Sinner “less than” 24.0 fs 📉

• Though Med leads the overall head to head 6-3, Sinner has won the last 3 matchups (all 3 coming in the tail-end of the 2023 season). Pairing the reality that Sinner has been playing some amazing tennis as of late with Med having to play back to back grueling 5 set matches, I have no quarrel or debate with those siding with Jannik to claim his first Major. Med has however been able to claim at least 1 set in all of their matches (excluding the Beijing final which had tiebreaks in both sets). Assuming Med has been able to recover fitness-wise, I will be looking for him to again claim at least a set (or win outright). If he is able to limit aces as well (considering his return position), 24.0 would be a bit of an ask for Sinner if he is unable to win in straights.
