That's quite early to be asking for help on trticolor, but ideally you'd want to be playing opportunistically and try to play for as many grabs as possible while also trying to take it during opportunities when you might live for longer
If there's no chance of surviving for long if you've grabbed it, just grab it often since it reduces its time to control with every single grab as well as over time
But keep in mind that ultra rush strats can become very predictable, so play for your outs foremost by taking down enemies and controlling your paint, because it's still turf war
There is no simple strategy beyond just taking out enemies progressively since they're going to be your biggest hurdle. Observe the map layout what might be difficult routes or areas to go through or vice versa for better ones - be attentive in other words.

as defender keep checking both sides and the map to swap around taking out the attackers and keep a watch on people rushing signal, paint in the meantime. it requires good awareness to keep checking multiple directions. if someone gets signals focus more on their side to counteract the signal.
as attacker try to find an opening to take out defenders and protect someone who´s grabbing the signal, regardless of team. as attacker you´re working together with the other attacking team so don´t kill them. only one of the attacking teams needs to win for it to count as a win for you too, so you can sometimes just focus on helping the other team especially if they grab signal. also you can help your teammate grab signal taking out people around and using a special for cover like bubble, vac, booyah bomb to make the signal grab easier for the person rushing it
regardless of team check the map to see any base invaders and top screen for who´s alive so you can know the state of the game; information always helps make decisions better
