self-explanatory

  1. Why?
  2. There's no reason they couldn't (physically) plenty of wild animals occasionally get drunk consuming something fermented they found.
  3. Nintendo would never depict them drinking though, because most are kids, and any alchohol consumption could raise the age rating.

1 and 2 both happened years and years ago and the latter was censored for overseas releases
3 makes no sense because chris pratt was likely not drunk while recording

#

in addition, bowser and peach are not underaged drinkers. inklings and octolings would be, for the most part.

the most alcohol references you’ll get out of modern Nintendo is a series-spanning recurring gag in Zelda about intoxicating milk/other innocuous drinks

once more that was 30 years ago

And honestly I don’t blame Bob Hoskins

#

Technically that wasn’t even Nintendo, they just have the go-ahead for movie licensing

Super Mario Kart is a prime example of why they wouldn't have drinking depicted in games today: Bowser and Peach only partake in the original version, for release in Europe and America they censored it to avoid getting a higher age rating

#

In the international versions while they're still holding what's presumably champane, neither opens the bottle, instead Bowser fidgets with it and Peach tosses hers up in the air.

The answer is yes, they can.

The booklet that comes with Splatune 3 has a series of in-universe tweets from Beika, one of the members of C-Side who appears to be an Inkling.
One of those tweets explicitly begins with the sentence "酔った勢いで書く。", which roughly translates to "I am writing/typing this in a drunken stupor".
He then goes on to claim that Squid Squad stole Now or Never! from C-Side, who "recorded it first but just didn't release it", which is a clear demonstration on why you shouldn't go onto Twitter when drunk.
