#automod a bit too extreme with its punishment

ofc i dont think it shouldn't punish you but not being able to talk for a whole day for a minor offense is
I kinda agree with this. At least having a general idea for a "do not say" list would be helpful too maybe. But yeah maybe just even a quick 30 minute cooldown would be good.
Imo 42's blacklist worked better
What are these words? Now I'm scared lol
😅
you know the usual nono words like cat and lighting man
Unfortunately the automod timeout settings have the granularity of a pile of boulders.
gotta love discord programming
Idk maybe 10 min then
Or an hour
Ive only gotten hit by it twice but it does make it a bit of a pain to be having a good (non rulebreaking) convo and then just be told "but what if you didn't
, see you tomorrow "
If it were my call, it'd be 6-12 hours
What words are banned? 😭😭😭
Hmm... okay!
Thanks lol
Are you able to appeal timeouts with the mod mail bot? Or just have to wait the 24h for all cases
We sometimes remove a timeout if it was a typo or something relatively innocent
We dont try to run this place like some christian mc server
oh my god this why do servers with word automod NEVER list the words
I mean its clear why it isnt listed but yeah
oh wait,, people would try to move past the filter
if we listed the words, people would immediately try and figure out how to bypass the filters, and then that defeats the point
i will say that the filters that get hit the most are "kys" and "kms", which are explicitly forbidden by rule 3 anyway, so no sympathy there, using "pussy" as an insult, though it's blocked for the sexual connotation of it, we may remove this in future if it keeps being tripped, and using "bussy" as a typo for "busy".
I don't think I can make specific topic threads ignore the filters, i'll see if i can suppress it for server-feedback though just so that nobody accidentally trips it here
the regular filter shouldn't trip in here for now. the extreme filter (mostly just various ways of typing the N-word) still applies.
glad the words are like. sensible though ngl. that sounds weird to say but i remember getting warned in a server for talking about watching a horror series with my friend and i have NO idea what blacklisted word i used to this day. i didn’t even describe the series either i just straight up stated it
i was about to say this
could we have a message with the warning that tells you what word it was
99% of the time it's clear what the word is, the other 1% is probably a typo being treated as an obscure slur in which case we usually undo the timeout
our filter list is slurs, "km/ys" and inappropriate sexual related words
Including PAPA OSCAR ROMEO NOVEMBER, i think thats the one ive tripped twice
I've disabled it for this thread, but yeah
Oh
