Like the title says, if I try assigning something to a "down" press on the Master Forge, I get an error that says "Error: Failed with status VAR". I'm able to remap the other "cardinal directions", just not the downward press.

... Maybe a picture of the PCB helps with the entire cardinal direction and in-press situation.
There's no separate in switch. Pressing the stick towards the PCB does the same as hitting four keys on a regular planar keyboard as well. Like hitting left home row on qwerty produces asdf, pressing a stick towards the PCB produces the letters bound to the four switches below the stick.

I'm guessing that it's planned to remove the center click option from the gui for the M4G.

It's mentioned in this issue: https://github.com/CharaChorder/DeviceManager/issues/168#issuecomment-2675898560

But if you want to give it more attention, then you could open a new issue about it on the device manager GitHub repository. https://github.com/CharaChorder/DeviceManager

So, the M4G doesn't have a "down/in" switch? Is this the same on the Charachorder? I'm confused because the online docs, under the section on the M4G, say:

Each switch has five press-able directions. Throughout this guide, we will use cardinal directions to refer to the directions in which each switch can move, with north being forward, away from your body. Switches can move north, south, west, east and down, into the device.

https://docs.charachorder.com/Master Forge.html#the-switches

The section on the M4G was just added a few days ago, so maybe some information was copy/pasted from the Charachorder that doesn't apply to the Master Forge?

The next sentence says:

Note that unlike the CC2, pressing switches into the device on the Master Forge is a chorded input which activates all four directions simultaneously.

The last sentence in the switches section also says:

The 3D press cannot be assigned to an individual character, but, instead, allows you to press all four cardinal directions on a switch simultaneously, as a chord.
