I used to type about 100 WPM on a QWERTY keyboard, but I decided that I really like having long acrylic nails much more than I like typing fast. So I moved to doing everything on my tablet for about six months while I waited for my CharaChorder to come in the mail. It's been about six or seven months since I started using it 100% of the time, and I don't practice very much. I type about 40 WPM with it and only know about 30 chords. I don't mind this at all because typing speed was never my goal ๐
I love how comfortable my hands are while typing, and when I do get to use a chord that I know well, it feels really cool! Also, it's super quiet! I use my CharaChorder for playing games like Minecraft, Tetris, Ghostbusters, Cities: Skylines, and really any game that allows me to remap the keys. I'm not a serious gamer, so I almost never run into serious game-breaking problems. I do wish there was a way to toggle the keys to have things like WASD where I set them for games. It would save the three minutes I spend remapping things after I first start a game, lol.
I never feel rushed because there's no one but me rushing me to type quickly. If I go at my comfortable pace, I almost never miss the key I'm looking to type. I just know where they are. Most of the chords I know I learned pretty naturally, just going after the easy ones. I can easily see someone growing up with this, typing really efficiently.
One of the gray key things falls off about twice a week, and I don't know why. It's okay though because it pops back on pretty easily. As long as the company is around, I'll probably keep using CharaChorder products forever! ๐
