Hi all,
did someone of you have experience with Hyper-V and SMB3 multi-channel configuration. I found only that TR, which is pretty old https://www.netapp.com/pdf.html?item=/media/17136-tr4740.pdf ,the normal documentation are not helpfull on netapp docs. Are there any new TR or white paper article?

Thanks i know that article, but there is no detailed information like on a TR article. For example using a port-channel or not (which kind of load-balancing policy, how many lifs and so on....)

port-channel or not does have nothing to do with SMB multichannel. If you're looking for Port-channel advice, that would be more in a Network TR or something

generally it's preferable to use a single 40g link instead of four 10g links, for example. for load-balancing (I think you mean the distribution function?), port-based is considered to be the one that best distributes traffic over the links if you have many connections

Thanks for the update, we got from an microsoft engineer that statement, thas why i am asking for best practises: – Avoid configurations where LACP or storage presentation collapses multiple paths into one logical endpoint for SMB
– Validate that multiple client IPs and multiple server IPs are actively used (not just reachable) via Get SmbMultichannelConnection
– Align with NetApp to confirm whether multi LIF per SVM / cross node multichannel is supported in your configuration
