Hi Experts,
I would like to get some dashboards to DII. We have flexcache configured.
We need to know the cold and hot data on the cache filer volumes using a dshboard view

If you look under netapp_ontap.workload_volume there's a bunch of columns around FlexCache, all called flexcache_* something. Would that be what you're looking for?

@copper roost : i am looking under DII Observabilty Dashboads. How can i do it?

I don't think there's a prebuilt dashboard around FlexCache, so you probably need to create one of your own. You can start by creating a table widget and then pick Object netapp_ontap.workload_volume.

#

For this object you then have a bunch of flexcache-realted columns that you can add to your widget.

#

You can use these metrics to build graphs also.

added as mentioned. but domt seem to get any values.

If you use it, then it should be visible there. Best to my knowledge you can't turn those metrics of in the collector. Just to doublecheck, you're sure that we're talking about Flex Cache and not Flash Cache? Just thinking they might be easy to mix together. If you are using Flex Cache then the only way forward that I can see would be to open up a support case to investigate.

yep all of them are flexcache. i have added all the cache netapps. but not the origin netapp

Don't think the source/origin is needed, but I'm not a 100%. I have a lab where I can see the flexcache_endpoint_type being "cache" and then I have a cluster mentioned under flexcache_origin_cluster, so it seems like I'm seeing the "cache netapps", but should be mentioned that I also have the source in there, so not sure if that makes a difference.

maybe the origin/source is needed? we havent added the source since it will exceed our license capacity. so we are planning to add only the flexcache desitinations

I truly don't know. All the tests we have in the lab have the origin and the cache on the same cluster. The only thing I can come up with is that the account you're using doesn't have the permission necessary to gather those metrics. You could check the recording files on the AU to look for clues. To get assistance with all of that you could also just open a support case.
