Hi everyone,

Does anyone have experience running a two-node Data ONTAP Simulator on Proxmox?

I’m running into an issue where the following commands from the manual don’t seem to work:

Change the serial number and system ID for this node:
a) VLOADER> setenv SYS_SERIAL_NUM 4034389-06-2
b) VLOADER> setenv bootarg.nvram.sysid 4034389062

Has anyone seen this before or knows what might be going wrong?

what do you mean by "don't seem to work"? can you not type these in? Do you get an error message (if so, what is the error)?

It seems to work now i switched the bios in the vm to another and changed it backed. Now i can change the SYS_SERIAL_NUM

After changing the serial and boot i got a kernel panic error, is ot possible to run a two node on Proxmox

I've heard from people that it should work. You just can't setup a proper HA system with shared disks (but that is not documented anyways). Regular 2-node cluster (i.e. 2 single systems clustered together) should work on proxmox. But I have not tried it myself tbh

isn't this what half of the homelab channel has been talking about for the last year?
