We have a customer with an old FAS2552 system running ONTAP 9.7 which is out of support. Things have working fine, but over the past week, they started having issues with the Linux servers accessing CIFS shares on the ONTAP system. They are getting alerts around "Many simultaneous new CIFS connections are occurring on vServer 3..." It just started and the Linux admins say nothing has been updated or patched on the servers so not sure what could be causing it or if there is a way to increase the number of CIFS connections allowed for a TCP session.
