We have a system with several SVMs which are "locked" down in their specific networks. The users access and manage them via REST API and SSH. But the users keeps asking for a web UI like the cluster UI, but as far as I know this isn't possible? I am of cause hoping that it will be avaliable on later ONTAP releases? Another approach could be to allow them login with a cluster user and try to limit this user to only their SVM, but is that possible? We are also working with StorageGRID where they have a great Tennant page from where the users can access their specific buckes etc.. a similar approach would be great with ONTAP...

you might want to wait just a bit longer... rumor has it that it is indeed being worked on, but no specifics yet
try asking your NetApp contacts for an NDA info session, maybe they already have something to share?
Interesting... so like 9.18.1 ? or even further into the future? Had another look at RBAC, which does't seem to help much in this case...
We can't share info here in public that is still under NDA. Ask for a briefing from your TPM please. 🙂
Don't worry I will 🙂 We have a "Ninja" session in a week which is under NDA... looking forward to it.... 🙂
Outstanding!
If it were in 9.18.1 you'd already know about it, 9.18.1 is at P1 already 🙂
As I get older I try to stay away from the bleeding edge 😉
Definetly waiting for such a feature !
@autumn current
@lucid zenith Definitely get your NetApp SE to file an FePVR for you. That way we can register demand and ask the right questions when it does get built 😁
@lucid zenith This feature is now available on ontap 9.19
https://docs.netapp.com/us-en/ontap/release-notes/whats-new-9191.html#data-protection
...but it's still very restricted (volume management only)
Cool.. still better than nothing I guess...
