Hello!. I have bought a couple of additional storagegrid appliances to add to my existing grid. We don't have DHCP based setup, so I need to remotely connect to the console and set an IP on the admin interface so I can access it from the jump host to continue the installation process. When I go in I am created with a "StorageGRID-PGE login:" prompt. I tried all combinations of the usual username and passwords that I have known from my past. I made a mistake of not recording the credentials I used the first time I setup the grid nodes. The appliances are of model 5812 and have no BMC. Wondering if anybody here have had this situation and if you guys know what credentials should I use to go in via the console to set an IP. Thanks!

The installer has a default password. Though I am not sure if I should spill it here.

Thanks. It didn't work for me. I did try all combinations though.
Wondering if the E4000 that is sitting beside this appliance is not connected to it and if that is causing this issue. may be? thoughts?

erm, yeah, sorry what SG Appliance do you have?

#

there are some SG models that have an E-series as integral part, and if you don't connect it it's like trying to drive a car where the gearbox is missing

@rotund grotto A couple of things I found are mentioned below.

  • The new nodes that I got are on 12.0. The ones that I installed last year came with 11.8. So when one of the current nodes in the existing grid which is in 11.9 was taken to maintenence mode happened to see that the installer view looks less modern compared to the 12.0.
  • Happened to reboot one of the newly arrived 12.0 nodes and found this message during boot up(Screen shot attached). May be something that is interesting interms of how default PGE credentials are being handled from 12.0 onwards?
    Just curious.
