Hello All,

There seems to be a mess concerning NetApp recommendation for Nvidia SN2100 firmware version to be used with Metrocluster

RCF Generator 1.7a suggested to upgrade to 5.7 (that is not in HWU list):

A customer was using CumulusOS 5.7 with ONTAP 9.15 and recently upgraded to ONTAP 9.16 without updating Nvidia SN2100 RCF ...
So I have installed Cumulus OS 5.4 with RCF 2.30 and it seems to work fine.

But what is the official NetApp statement concerning this point ?

My customer is wondering why Firmware had to be downgraded and I asked me to explain about this :/

Hi @leaden zephyr, apologies for the delay in responding back to this. I reached out to some folks and we believe that your customer is "ok" (although never officially supported) to continue to run on 5.7 until 5.11 support is added in the next version of RcfFileGenerator. This way your customer can save an upgrade/downgrade by having to revert downgrade.

Many thanks for your return.
This time, according with local NetApp team, I have downgraded, but next time we will use 5.11 version as RcfFileGenerator will be up to date 😃

I have also indicated to my customer that RcfFileGenerator tool is generally known to be reliable and this situation was a first unexpected and next version would probably be as good as we usually know.

Thank you @leaden zephyr for the update. I agree, that is the best option. I’ll try my best to keep an eye out for when the next version is posted to place an update in this thread.
