#Concurrency optimizations for nas-economy?

Recently there were some changes in Trident that improved PV creation speed with FCP, iSCSI and NAS type backends (I know these are still in "Tech Preview" state).
I now have a customer who is using nas-economy volumes (because they have over 2000 volumes already and are still in the process of migrating more workloads on their k8s cluster). They have exactly the same problem, deployment takes ages (up to 30 minutes for maybe 40 or 50 volumes) and leads to pods and deployments crashing with a "failed to attach" error, meaning they have to go back in and manually restart all these deployments until they successfully complete.

They are now asking whether the concurrency optimizations that are in 25.10 will also at some point (next release?) find their way into the nas-economy type backends?

It's planned. The hope is for the next release, but it's too early to tell if it will definitely be in there or not.

ah, that's good to know, thank you!

What version is the customer running today? Not saying it’s applicable across everyone and all environments but I have customers reporting just going to 25.x have improved this issue.

they're already running 25.10 because they wanted to try if the option maybe works for them despite the docs saying it's nas/san only 🙂
