We have several 3.8TB X356 drives in one of our clusters. I understand that these drives have reached End of Support (EOS) status; however, our overall cluster is still under active support coverage.

Can someone confirm what would happen if one of these X356 drives fails?

Would NetApp provide a newer equivalent drive model (e.g., X357 3.8TB) as a replacement?
Or would these disks no longer be eligible for replacement?

usually it's the latter as they're not picked up by the reneal usually.

I've had to move root aggrs around because disks we're expired.

you can also ask your account team to file an fpvr if you haven't already to extend support on them. sometime they do get approved.
