Due to security concerns, using plain passwords in the backend.json file is not feasible in my organization.

Therefore, we are considering using a self-signed certificate.

Could you please confirm if it is necessary to create the self-signed certificate only from the Kubernetes master node?

I believe I can create the certificate on any Unix host and then upload it to the NetApp system, following the instructions in the KB article below.
