Harvest is not polling callhome.* EMS events, since these use ASUP as the notification mechanism. As a result, they do not appear in the event logs. How can we set up alerts for these events?

hi @teal lotus I see five instances of callhome referenced in ems.yaml. Can you clarify which ones are missing?

issue is not about reference of these events in ems.yaml
Harvest is not polling these callhome.* events since these are not landing in event logs (not seeing under ems_events metric) and only notified via asup

Hmm. When I check our cluster, I see those events. On your cluster, after logging in, try this:

set diag
event generate -message-name callhome.<Press Tab>

When I press Tab, I see lots of callhome.* events

Issue is all callhome.* events by default has asup as destination... if we trigger test event harvest does not know even if we define in ems.yaml

okay I was able to make it work.. need to add destination allevents so they will land in event logs and now harvest can see them

event route show -message callhome.vol.offline -fields destinations
message-name severity destinations

callhome.vol.offline ALERT asup,allevents
