There are quie a few VM servers based on NFS datastores, since a few days ago, some local file system all the suddent became READ-ONLY, or I/O errors, corruptions on someother file systems.

Can you please provide some clues?

Most likely the volumes ran out of space...

No, not in this case. I know "out of space" is common issue. But we double checked there are a lot of space and a number of datastores involved.

yeah, that can happen if the access to the datastores gets disrupted for a longer period of time. Linux times out and remounts everything read-only, while ESX at some point recovers and shows the datastores as available. Check the ESX logs when the datastores went offline and when they cam eback, and try to relate it to changes in your environment. Could be network issues, routing, takeover without proper network access on the takeover site, etc.
