Found this ERROR in "event log show" on both A700s nodes in HA, it has happened since at least a year ago.
Please advise, how can I find the root cause?

@latent crypt any luck finding an answer? I imagine Hardware Universe will tell you if your cable is truly unsupported.

The PN of the SAS cable is supported on A700... maybe it's the HBA that it is connected to that does not support it? But to be honest I have never had a SAS cable be "unsuported".... plenty of DAG and SFP modules, but not SAS 😉

ic.unsupportedCable is about the HA interconnect, not about disk shelf connectivity. I honestly didn't know the A700s used SAS cables for their HA port 😄

#

In any case, for the HA interconnect, only the 0.5m cable is supported

wow I'd love one of those cards for my collection. proprietary interconnect on the NVRAM card 😍 anyone have a spare they wanna send over? 🙂

There was some exotics back in the 7mode days... infiniband I seem to remember... a long black thick cable? 😉 And of cause the old FCVI cards which is kinda the same, just over a longer distance... But yeah apparently the 700s has MiniSAS-HD connector for HA-Cluster connections... The card is X3154A and you need this 0.5M SAS cable X66030A ... but apparently a one off card, only used in the A700s 😉
