We have done a HW replacement from issilon to Netapp A400 ; migration was done by Netapp PS with Datadobi and all went oki , but from client windows systems files do not show the security tab ; volume is ntfs , rights are the same as on the original isilon share

I checked KB's and found https://kb.netapp.com/on-prem/ontap/da/NAS/NAS-KBs/CIFS_share_does_not_show_Security_tab_in_share_properties -- but symlink is on ;

Has anyone seen this before ?

Next i will try to set again the ownership .....

vserver security file-directory modify -vserver <svm> -path <path> -owner <domain\user>

check if you have qtrees in your volume that have the wrong security style

unfortunatelly everything is ntfs

ok, no idea then, sorry... I have only ever seen this when the security style of the volume or qtree was set to "mixed" or "unix"

Do you have LS mirrors for the SVM's root volume? If so, you may need to run a manual update then recheck, and/or make sure that it set to update at a frequency that meets your needs. Since this is a migration, you may not run into it as often in the future, but it is something to be aware of. See the Additional Information section of this KB: https://kb.netapp.com/on-prem/ontap/da/NAS/NAS-KBs/do_LS_mirrors_affect_NAS_access_when_new_volumes_are_added
