How can we identify the snapmirror relationship a snapshot is attached to, I cannot delete a snapshot as it says it is attached to some snapmirror relationship but I think this was related to some older relationship which is gone now. How can I validate the same.

Use "snapmirror list-destinations" or "snapmirror show" depentant on how the relationship was deleted you may have to do a "snapmirror delete" or "snapmirror release"... if all that does not show anything for the volume I would just delete it with the "-force" option...
force requires "set advanced" ... there is also a "-ignore-owners" you can try...
