depends on several things.
Is the volume mounted with CIFS as the filesystem option?
Is the system trying to mount it as an anymous user or pcuser, etc?
Do you have user mappings setup for the accounts?
If it is mounted as NFS, then the most probably cause for the permission denied is root squashing (i.e. your export policy is not configured correctly). Or that the mapping between root and a domain user (or domain admin) is missing
