Hi All, what would be the best solution to migrate a workload running mixed (CIFS + NFS) workloads on a third party storage to NetApp AFF ? Also, this mixed workload has to be available in 3 different geographical locations in RW mode, so need advice on implementing a solution on that as well.

xcp for migrating and flexcache for r/w access in 3 regions

@umbral basalt would XCP be enough to carry both NFS and CIFS configuration ? And no hardware can be purchased for other two sites, any alternate solution ? maybe ONTAP select ?

XCP doesn't copy configuration. it only copies the files, but rather fast. If the files are on an NTFS style volume, XCP for CIFS it will copy NTFS ACLs. If the files are on an NFS style volume, it will copy UNIX modebits

of course you can use ONTAP select for all 3 sites. FlexCache also works in ONTAP select. But you still need somewhere to put the data, ONTAP select requires disks in a server (or a DAS RAID)
