#SIM LOD Snapmirror and NVMe/TCP

I'm trying to use the LOD, "Protecting Virtualized Workloads with SnapMirror Active Sync v1.0" to test some synchronous snap mirror workflow with NVMe/TCP with VMWare. Everything seems to be going smoothly until I try to add a controller to the NVMe HBA in vmware. When I add the netapp NVMe IP and click "Discover Controllers", I get this error: "Error during discover controllers" and "An error occured during host configuration: Operation failed, diagnostics report: Unable to discover" I've verified the MTU is 1500 all the way from end to end and I've done a vmkping from the vmkernel to the netapp nvme IP and was successful. The Netapp sim in the lab shows a valid license for NVMe. Anyone have any reason this wouldn't work for me? I realize that the lab uses iSCSI and that it's effectively similar, but I'm specifically wanting to test NVMe/TCP. I would use the NVMe/TCP lab, but it doesn't have vmware nor does it have two clusters for the snapmirror. Thoughts?
